Foreign Minister departs to Turkey

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid departed to Turkey on a bilateral visit, last Monday night reports Foreign Minister.
Foreign Ministry informs that during the visit Foreign Minister Shahid will Call on Abdullah Gül, President of the Republic of Turkey and meet his counterpart and senior officials of the Government of Turkey.
Maldives established diplomatic relations with Turkey on 28 may 1979. Turkey has assisted the Maldives following the Tsunami disaster of December 2004.
According to Foreign Ministry Minister Shahid is visiting Turkey to explore ways of further strengthening the existing bilateral relations between the two countries in various areas. The Minister is accompanied by Abdul Azeez Yoosuf, Ambassador-at-Large and Ibrahim Hood, Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
