Foundation stone of mosque laid – Foundation stone of a new mosque in Milandhoo, North Miladunmadulu, has been laid. The foundation stone was laid by the Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Sheikh Farooq Ahmed. He delivered a religious speech after laying the foundation stone. In his speech he said that praying was important. The mosque has a capacity o 800 worshippers. The government finances the project.
Dhiddhoo harbor to be upgraded – Ministry of Construction and Public Infrastructure has said that the existing harbor facility in Dhiddhoo will be improved. According to the ministry the existing facility’s seawall is made of sand bags. However the ministry will improve the quay walls with sheet-piling. The project is set to start today.
Late-entry alert out – Department of Public Examinations has announced that the department has begun accepting late entries to Cambridge Ordinary Level Examinations. The department will accept late entry applications until 23rd of this month. According to the department so far 1200 candidates have booked seats for the Ordinary level examinations.
Help desk in Trivandrum – A help desk is set to be established at the Medical College Police Station in Trivandrum. The decision by the police followed a meeting with the Maldivian High Commissioner in India and the Police Commissioner of Kerala.
