Pakistani Navy ships visiting Maldives

The High Commissioner of Pakistan to the Maldives has said that Pakistani Navy ships “Moawin” and “Babur” will be paying goodwill and training visit to Malé from 11th to the 13th of this month.
A Press release from the High Commissioner said that their ships make routine port calls to friendly countries. It said that Maldives and Pakistan enjoy close friendly relations and Pakistan navy played a pivotal role in assisting Maldives when the Tsunami struck the region on 26th December 2004. Pakistan Navy helicopters and ships helped in rescuing a large number of foreign tourists and Maldivian nationals. It said that Pakistan takes pride in standing by its brotherly country during its hour of need.
The call by Pakistan Navy ships at Maldives is aimed at exchange of experience between Pakistani Navy and Maldivian Coast Guard.
