Article Tools
The Strategic Communications Unit of the President’s Office has issued a statement yesterday regarding the accounts of some People’s Majlis members meeting with the President and requesting the dismissal of some Cabinet Ministers, which have been published in some magazines and newspapers.
The statement says that the President attached great importance to giving audience to the Members of the People’s Majlis if they so request, including members representing Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) and the Maldivians Democratic Party (MDP).
Consequently such a meeting was arranged on the 29th of last November following the request from some members of the People’s Majlis belonging to the DRP.
The statement says that discussions at this meeting included the respective sectors of the various members and the work of the People’s Majlis, as well as some matters related to DRP.
The statement further says that neither at this meeting nor at any other meeting was there any talk of dismissing the members of the Cabinet or brining any changes to the Cabinet.
